Forio, the war against mosquitoes begins at the "Colombaia"

Forio, the war against mosquitoes begins at the "Colombaia"

The organization of summer events at the "Colombaia" has forced the Municipality of Forio to address and resolve a problem that would cause considerable inconvenience to the public: the massive presence of mosquitoes in that area.

In the resolution awarding the pest control and containment service, the head of Sector V, architect Giampiero Lamonica, recalls the council resolutions that decided to organize a summer series of cultural and artistic events called "Bellissima 2025 – The Art of Being Human," "aimed at enhancing cultural heritage and promoting local identity." This program is expected to attract a significant audience.

The fact is that "the Colombaia is located in a wooded area particularly favorable to the proliferation of mosquitoes, and this could cause discomfort to participants and compromise the success of the events."

Hence the urgency of proceeding with disinfestation interventions.

For the service to be carried out this summer, Lamonica proceeded through direct negotiations on Mepa, contracting with the company “Eco-Merid (Ecologica Meridionale)” of Ischia.

The contract was formalized for a cost of 854 euros including VAT.
